You’re the one who’s spouting out the labels in the first place.

And socialism is unconstitutional to let you know.

  • USAGymnast says:

Except this country isn’t a democracy, it’s a Constitutional Republic.

And there’s this thing called the Constitution, which says that the military is the responsibility of the federal government, while the 10th amendment, prohibits federal government programs that you like such as Social Security, Medicare, education, welfare, etc.

I know that you hate the US Constitution.

We don’t have a free press in this country.
We have a corrupt and one sided press.
They try and take away talk radio…the revolt begins.

Sure public school education is expensive and inefficient, and the results don’t support the cost.

How about setting national standards, and limiting teachers to only teaching? Tests and assessments would be centrally set and based on the standards teachers are suppose to teach against, while marking would also be independently done. In that way comparing student results statistically to their expectation would quickly identify teachers deserving a raise and those that should be fired.

I really don’t see the problem here.
Where I live in Northern Virginia, our teachers salary averages in excess of $77,000 per school year, plus benies.
Of course that includes getting off all of the holidays, the summer, Christma…………..(ahem)…..Winter vacation, and Spring vacation.
So what’s a few thou for cappuccino machines?
    They are “entitled”…………right?

  • LuvGokunut says:

    This is just an aside…

If you google Rep. Bachmann (or any Republican) you will notice that most results appear to take a negative stance toward her. Google Barney Frank and nothing shows up…oh, except that he “admitted to soliciting a male prostitute.” Otherwise, all is rosy with him. He was even voted like the most eloquent representative or something.

Now how on earth does THAT happen? Something is clearly askew.

Good videos by the way. I’ve been watching them all night.

$67k for Cappuccino Machines? That’s outrageous! As if teachers and their unions don’t already have it too soft, why should the tax payer paid for their high end coffee?

Oh wait, I spoke to soon, the article actually says the machines were bought for a culinary program, which gets students ready for work in the hospitality field. The issue at hand was that the purchase was split up, to avoid a competitive bid, and one administrator was fired, while 3 more were disciplined. A non-news issue.

suburb teachers have it nothing like city teachers. my dad sub’ed for some school down town kc and talked about how kids threw their text books and desk out on the lawn and used wire cutters to open up lockers and steal and how one kid leaned out the window and my dad reached and grabbed him by the belt and the kid started talking about how he was grabbing his butt…… thats just my dad subing for 2 years….much less a person that made a career out of it

What this would do is move the entire conservative talk radio media venue to the internet through streaming and podcasts, and satellite radio. This would eventually render the fairness doctrine impotent through technology and put talk radio into a realm where the FCC has no power to censor any speech, much less “dirty” words. Anybody can see that even AM/FM radio is fast becoming obsolete with today’s smart phones, just like news papers getting trounced by the Internet..

  • Spazzboy911 says:

I like Cappuccinos or really just coffee in general. But i also like paying for my drink, it lets me feel involved in the free market that someone is being paid for their goods or services. Are they really just getting free cap’os at school? For shame.

im in highschool and our school is way over crowded it has allmost 4,000 students and there are 3 (next year a 4th) other highschool in the same area. and they all have about 3,000 students. Why Spent $67K on Cappuccino Machines when some school are so crowded that my science teacher dosent have a class room he has to teach his class in the gym or out side.

  • beseriousplease says:

I agree, the fairness doctrine sucks. It sets a bad precedent for future radio.

I also don’t like the some unions, but they are necessary to some extent.

BUT, how do you employ “A student” teachers when they could go make more money managing electronics at wal-mart. How? Public education is absolutely vital in avoiding a peasant/nobility class system. It may be broken in some areas, but until a solution is provided it’s all we have and should be supported.

  • beseriousplease says:

Also, admin =/= teachers or students. Short changing those who’ve done nothing wrong because some corrupt school district adnimistrator likely took a cash payment to split and privatize a contract is cutting of a nose to spite a face.

  • KatBorba says:

The problem with education spending is not that there is not enough money. In California 25% of the stat education budget never leaves Sacramento. The problem on the whole with education is not the teachers, if we were allowed to to our jobs things would be better. But I not only have the Dept. of Ed telling me what to teach, I have parents undermining my efforts putting no emphasis on education. Imagine the Gov. telling a doctor to give EVERY patient Asprin no matter what they had.
